Mutts on Main: March 23rd

Mutts on Main, where Downtown Gainesville goes to the dogs!

Kicking off the list is an event that’s bound to make tails wag – Mutts on Main. A celebration of our four-legged friends, Mutts on Main transforms Downtown Gainesville into a haven for dog lovers. With dog-friendly activities, contests, and a parade of adorable pups, it’s a day of furry fun that brings the community together!

2024 Art Walk: April 18th

For those who appreciate the finer things in life, our annual Art Walk is a must-attend event. Local artists showcase their talents, lining the streets with paintings, sculptures, and live music. It’s a perfect opportunity to support the arts, meet creators in the Gainesville community, and find that perfect piece to adorn your home!

 

Skate The City: April 28th

Adding an extra dose of excitement, Skate The City glides into Gainesville, turning the streets into a skating paradise. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a novice, this event promises a day of fun, laughter, and a unique way to experience the city!

Food Truck Fridays: 3rd Friday of the Month, April – August

Calling all foodies! Gainesville’s Food Truck Fridays are a food and music lovers’ paradise. Featuring diverse food trucks offering an array of culinary delights, it’s a monthly event that satisfies every palate. From savory to sweet, Food Truck Fridays are a chance to explore global flavors lakeside!

Blue Sky Concerts: Each Wednesday in May

When the weather warms up, Gainesville comes alive with the sound of music during the Blue Sky Concerts. These open-air performances feature local musicians, creating a vibrant atmosphere that echoes through the downtown Gainesville square. First Fridays: 1st Friday of the Month, May – September

Beach Bash: July 12st

Gainesville Chicken Festival: October 19th

Feathers and fun collide at the Gainesville Chicken Festival. This quirky event celebrates the Poultry Capital of the World with Georgia’s BIGGEST Chicken Cookoff, featuring 17,000 pounds of freshly cooked chicken. It’s a lighthearted, family-friendly affair that showcases Gainesville’s community spirit!

Trick or Treat on the Square: Halloween (October 31st)

Halloween in Gainesville is extra special with Trick or Treat on the Square. Families come together in creative costumes to enjoy safe and festive trick-or-treating in the heart of Downtown Gainesville. It’s a spooktacular event that adds a touch of magic to the Halloween season!

Jingle Mingle: November 23rd

As one of the Southeast’s quirkiest, fun, family-friendly events, Jingle Mingle is the perfect way to start your holiday season here in the Poultry Capital of the World! The Downtown Square will be alive with the holiday spirit including open houses in downtown businesses, live music, carriage rides, kiddie train rides, Santa and his arrival on a Gainesville Fire Engine, the Coca-Cola bear, S’more Station, entertainment and the grand LIGHTING OF THE CHICKEN!

Christmas on Green Street: December 8th

Make Gainesville your home for the holidays!

Closing out the year with a flourish, Christmas on Green Street is a Gainesville tradition that captures the magic of the season and the attention of over 15,000 attendees. The historic district transforms into a winter wonderland with decorations, an impressive parade, and the lighting of the community Christmas tree. It’s a heartwarming way to wrap up the year and usher in the holiday spirit!
