From Our Board Chair

I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Lake Lanier Olympic Park Foundation.  The vision, leadership and legacy that formed Lake Lanier Olympic Park Foundation and resulted in the development of the Lake Lanier Olympic Park provides us a foundation to move to the next level.

Our board is energized and enthusiastic about the future of the LLOP and the development of a long term vision and plan for  the park as a pivotal and integral part of our community.

The competition site for the 1996 Olympic rowing and canoe/kayak events, the LLOP boasts one of the best competition venues for both Rowing and Canoe/Kayak and as such hosts world class competitions and local and national athletes and teams as a key  training site.   The facility also provides recreational opportunities  for the region and as a destination point for sports enthusiasts.

The natural beauty surrounding the LLOP is unmatched by similar centers in the country and provides a unique opportunity for the Olympic Park to become a critical part of the communities’ active lifestyle providing a unique aspect to the quality of life in our region.
