Special Events

Lake Lanier Olympic Park is host to a number of events including camps, classes, meetings, festivals, special events and private rentals. Check out a few of our major annual events below and view our calendar to see all upcoming events!

Food Truck Friday

March – August, Second Fridays, 5 – 9 p.m. Join us for food and beer trucks, retail vendors, live  music and more… 5 – 9 p.m. Live music each month! 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Beach Bash

Join us for a family event at beautiful Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Enjoy live music and views of Lake Lanier. There will also be plenty of entertainment for the kids: hula hoops; buckets and shovels for sandcastle making; and limbo contests. Food Truck Friday trucks will offer several dinner choices and adult beverage options. For those who wish to arrive by boat, we offer a courtesy dock. Concert from 7 – 10 p.m.

Gainesville Chicken Festival

A chicken-packed afternoon including Georgia’s Official Chicken Cook-Off , live music, entertainment, and art market. The event lasts from 11 a.m. until the cook-off winner is announced at 4 p.m.

Vendor Information

Food, Drink, & Retail Vendors at Lake Lanier Olympic Park

Food and Drink Vendors are integral to many of Lake Lanier Olympic Park’s City-hosted events like Food Truck Friday, Beach Bash, and the Gainesville Chicken Festival. Making sure our attendees enjoy safe, clean food is of utmost importance. Any food or drink vendor taking part in public events at Lake Lanier Olympic Park must be able to provide the following documents: 

  • Current and valid Occupational Tax Certificate / Business License from their local jurisdiction.
  • Passing and recent health inspection or current Cottage Business License
  • Certificate of Insurance listing City of Gainesville as additionally insured. 

These requirements help ensure attendees are receiving food and drink from professional food vendors following high standards of practice of cleanliness and food safety. These materials must be renewed on an annual basis for food and drink vendors doing business at the park.

Retail Vendors at City-hosted events must be able to provide:

  • Occupational Tax Certificate /Business License from their local jurisdiction. 
  • Certificate of Insurance listing City of Gainesville as additionally insured.
