Headway

LCKC’s newest program, Headway, is our Youth Recreational and Bridge Program.

The Headway program will be structured to foster a variety of personal goals that young paddlers may approach our practice with. Practices will be structured with fun, competitive aspects, as well as longer distance paddles, in order to either prepare paddlers to advance from the Beginner Racing League to Developmental 1 Team by building paddling endurance and incorporating competitive aspects, or as a laid-back alternative for paddlers who do not wish to train for competitive sprint kayaking. The program will serve as a bridge to close the gap that young paddlers may find themselves in between completing the Beginner Racing League and qualifying in the time trials for the Developmental 1 team.

Membership is for 7-17 yr olds and will have up to twice-weekly practices and monthly social gatherings.

Meets 4:15PM – 6:15PM.
