The centerpiece of the evening features soprano Nicole Heinen (Opera Louisiane) in a stunning performance of Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 — a nostalgic, lyrical tribute to childhood memory, set against the soft hush of a Southern summer evening. Heinen’s luminous voice and intimate interpretation breathe life into Barber’s poetic masterpiece.
