Homeschool Day: The Creek & Cherokee of Georgia – NEGA History Center

Join us for Homeschool Day: The Creek & Cherokee of Georgia and step back in time to explore the rich history and culture of Georgia’s Native peoples!
This engaging event invites homeschool families to experience hands-on learning through interactive stations, storytelling, and living history.
Meet “Mary Musgrove,” the influential Creek interpreter who bridged cultures between Native people and colonists, and learn about traditional games like stickball that once united communities.
Try writing your name in Cherokee, listen to Cherokee stories, and discover examples of Cherokee and Creek fiber work.
Students can take part in a fun scavenger hunt, read first-hand accounts from the Trail of Tears, and create a seashell bracelet inspired by Creek traditions (paid craft).
It’s an inspiring day of discovery and connection—all ages welcome!
