Homeschool Day: Common Threads – NEGA History Center

| The Northeast Georgia History Center invites homeschool families to our first Homeschool Day of 2023, Common Threads. Come learn about how clothing was made in the 18th and early 19th centuries at home from spinning thread to sewing the final garment and everything in between. All activities and stations are ongoing from 10 AM – 1 PM:
Spinning Demonstration: Learn the skill of spinning yarn and try it for yourself! Weaving Cloth: Learn the basics of weaving using a lap loom. Equipment & Artifacts: View our display of antique sewing machines including one from the mid-1800s that will be used for demonstration. Exhibit Scavenger Hunt: See if you can find the textile and fashion artifacts in our exhibits! Find all items and you receive a prize.
