DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Gainesville Hall Dragon Boat Challenge is slated for April 25th from 7am – 3pm! \nREGISTER BY JANUARY 31ST AND RECEIVE 10 FREE PARKING PASSES!!!!! \nEntry fee includes a 1.5 hr. practice session the weekend before races with trained steersperson: April 17th (evening)\, April 18th and 19th (day). \nThis event uses 10-person +1 drummer Dragon Boats (teams of 11) with a weight limit of 2000 lbs. Perfect for the small business teams\, corporate teams\, church groups\, or neighborhood teams! Yes\, this event uses the small dragon boats which are a perfect way to get part of your full festival squad improving through practices. 100% of the proceeds of this event goes to LCKC.\nAll teams will have three 200 meters races (2 heats and a final). We also have the exciting distance race for Open and maybe some openings for a few other adventurous teams wanting to take part in racing for + – 2\,000 meters. \n-Best Dressed Drummer Contest\n-Adrian Williams Most Team Spirit Award\n-The Scott Crain Memorial Overall Champion Award\n-Medals for top three in divisions \nWith the sponsorship option\, we will put your company logo on a banner that we will hang up on the day of the event\, make special announcements about your company during the event\, and post your company information on our social media leading up to the event.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the fifth annual John Ferriss Regatta\, March 21st\, 2026!\nThe regatta will be open to all college rowing teams!\n\n\nRace Format\n\nRegistration opening soon via Regatta Central\n\nCLICK HERE TO VISIT REGATTA CENTRAL\n\nThe Venue\n\nLake Lanier Olympic Park served as the competition site for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games rowing and sprint canoe/kayak. Over the past 25 years\, the Lake Lanier Olympic Park has hosted many regional\, national and international competitions including the Champion International Collegiate Rowing Regatta\, ACRA\, and NCAA Women’s National Championship.\n\n\nWho is John Ferriss?\n\nIn 2001 LLRC hired John Ferriss as the second Executive Director and Head Coach. John came to Georgia with over 30 years of coaching experience beginning at T.C. Williams H.S. in Alexandria\, VA\, and continuing as lightweight rowing coach at Cornell University from 1984 to 1998. During those years\, his crews were consistent finalists at national championship regattas\, won several times\, and competed in the Henley Regatta in England. As a competitor\, he won two IRA Championships\, competed on the 1967 National Team\, and in the Masters’ category. He was one of the early developers of the USRowing coach education program\, edited 2 books\, and produced three video tapes. John served as president of LLRC for fiscal years 2013\, 2014\, & 2015. John has also served in many other board positions and has provided his expertise to the club in running large regattas as well as boathouse operation. John has lovingly maintained our fleet of rowing shells in top-notch condition as well as teaching Learn to Row and Learn to Row 2 classes which is the gateway for our new rowers.

DESCRIPTION:A day of indoor rowing\, competition\, and inspiration to support the Youth Program’s Mark Williams Scholarship fund. \n\n\n\n\nThe Mark Williams Ergatta is more than an indoor rowing event—it celebrates fitness\, community\, and perseverance. Proceeds directly support the Mark Williams Scholarship Fund for Lake Lanier Rowing Club youth rowers who have financial need. The LLRC team wants to remain accessible to all youth in the North Georgia region\, and events like the Mark Williams Ergatta help us do so. Scholarship funds help offset the cost of semester dues\, competition expenses\, and uniforms for recipients. Every entry helps support our youth rowers. \nHere’s what to expect: \n\nRowing Events for All Levels: From Masters and Junior competitors to Open events\, the competition offers opportunities for athletes to shine at every stage of their journey.\nOpen Team Relays: Local fitness gyms and functional fitness groups compete head-to-head to test strength and endurance\, rowing for pride and bragging rights.\nFirst Responders 911m Event: A unique\, high-energy 911-meter event where firehouses and other first responder teams compete for the title of North Georgia’s strongest.\nSurvivERG Cancer Survivors Event: A non-competitive event celebrating the progress and resilience of individuals impacted by cancer through their participation in rowing.\nAwards: The top three competitors in each event will receive medals for their efforts.\n\nIf you cannot compete\, please consider donating to the team to help us further our mission! SUMMARY:Beginning Racing League (BRL) - Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club
DESCRIPTION:Beginner Racing League racing is an 8-week program for ages 7 -17. Held in the Spring and the Fall of each year\, participants learn paddle basics\, good sportsmanship\, and teamwork. The grand finale is the “ Braff Fungatta” where the BRL teams race against each other on the 1996 Olympic course for individual medals and team bragging rights. \nTeams practice twice a week for 2 hours\, and you can pick a team that works with your schedule.
