DESCRIPTION:Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club presents the 28th annual Polar Bear Plunge on January 1\, 2026! \nSay goodbye to 2026 and dive into the 2026 New Year at our 28th Annual Polar Bear Plunge. This annual event is a fund-raising activity for LCKC so join us for a unique experience on the lake! This event draws thrill seekers of all walks of life to plunge themselves into the cool waters of Lake Lanier\, to bring in 2026. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m.\, paddle arrival at 10 a.m.\, plunge arrival 11:30 a.m. and will start at 12 pm on the LCKC docks. Hot chocolate and other refreshments available. We will also be having a 50/50 raffle. Come join us New Year’s Day for a great event and exciting auction items! Awards for best costume and best jump will be given! DESCRIPTION:Benefiting the Hall County Special Olympics as the primary charity!\nEntry fee includes a 1.5 hr practice session the weekend before races with trained steersperson 5/3-4\nThis event uses 10-person +1 drummer Dragon Boats (teams of 11) with a weight limit of 2000 lbs. Perfect for the small business teams\, corporate teams\, church groups\, or neighborhood teams! Yes\, this event uses the small dragon boats which are a perfect way to get part of your full festival squad improving through practices\nAll teams will have three\, 200 meters races (2 heats and a final). SUMMARY:Beginning Racing League (BRL) - Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club
DESCRIPTION:Beginner Racing League racing is an 8-week program for ages 7 -17. Held in the Spring and the Fall of each year\, participants learn paddle basics\, good sportsmanship\, and teamwork. The grand finale is the “ Braff Fungatta” where the BRL teams race against each other on the 1996 Olympic course for individual medals and team bragging rights. \nTeams practice twice a week for 2 hours\, and you can pick a team that works with your schedule.
