DESCRIPTION:Gainesville\, Georgia – The Northeast Georgia History Center recently announced that it will participate in the Georgia History Festival’s Super Museum Sunday on February 8\, 2026\, inviting the community to explore local history through free admission and special programming. Super Museum Sunday is part of the annual Georgia History Festival\, the signature K-12 educational program of the Georgia Historical Society\, reaching hundreds of thousands of students statewide. \nThe Northeast Georgia History Center will join over 130 historic sites\, house museums\, art museums\, and other points of interest throughout Georgia that will open their doors to the public\, FREE of charge. They will offer a variety of in-person and virtual experiences that encourage Georgians of all ages to explore and experience the history\, arts\, and cultural opportunities of our great state. \nThe Northeast Georgia History Center is dedicated to preserving and sharing our regional history and being our community’s pathway to history education. Through our educational programs\, community events\, exhibits\, and historic structures\, we strive to be a leading resource for promoting a greater understanding of local\, state\, and national history. \nFor Super Museum Sunday\, the History Center will be open February 8th\, 2026 from 12pm to 4pm with free admission.
